Affluent, a novel cryptocurrency investment application, has recently launched on Telegram. It’s mission is to connect traditional finance (TradFi) with decentralized finance (DeFi). Hyung Lee also co-founded Affluent and introduced his expertise in more traditional options trading. Hyun, former head of the TON Foundation, now steers the company toward providing a one-of-a-kind investment experience underpinned by world-class risk management. The launch follows several years of Hyun’s commitment at the TON Foundation. In his tenure as head of incubation/institutional growth director, he pioneered programs such as the first global TON hackathon, onboarding institutions into the ecosystem with effectiveness.

Leadership and Expertise

During his time with the TON Foundation, Hyun worked on starting the first global TON hackathon. He has been instrumental in attracting funds and institutions to develop and grow the TON ecosystem. Meanwhile, Hyun, his co-CEO, adds deep expertise from the TradFi side. This unparalleled know-how leaves Affluent uniquely placed to offer a really disruptive, subtler funding platform.

"By engineering solutions from traditional finance and developing them into a fully modular blockchain-based infrastructure, we are building the next generation of DeFi protocols — one that has all the advantages of Web3, but with the security and risk management of TradFi" - Lee

Risk Management and Security

Affluents core design strongly emphasizes risk management. Affluents design very inherently embeds strong robust risk management which is done through isolated lending pools. Hyun told Technical.ly that the protocol’s code has been independently audited by Trail of Bits, a cybersecurity coding audit firm. Additionally, TON’s asynchronous architecture makes flash loans impossible.

"The Affluent protocol has been audited by Trail of Bits, an industry-leading security audit firm. Affluent’s design inherently embeds robust risk management via the implementation of its isolated lending pools" - Justin Hyun

"Flash loans are also not a risk due to TON’s asynchronous design" - Justin Hyun

"There is currently no insurance on user deposits, but as the protocol grows, this is something we will take into consideration" - Justin Hyun

Affluent's Vision

Affluent aims to simplify DeFi investing, making it accessible to users of all backgrounds. The end-user process flow scheme is available, showcasing the app's intuitive design.

"Our goal is to transform complex DeFi services into a simple and intuitive experience where users of all backgrounds and knowledge levels can easily invest and grow their wealth" - Justin Hyun
